Marco did a fantastic job for us. We hired him to paint the interior and exterior of our 3400 square foot house and needed the entire job done in a very limited amount of time. Not only was he very reasonably priced but he BEAT our time deadline. His crew is extremely conscientious and always did an awesome job cleaning up the job site at night. I am an architect and general contractor with 45 years experience in residential design and construction. In October I was directed by a client to find a contractor who could refinish a three tiered, 1800 square foot, weather worn hardwood deck on two day notice and complete the work in 1 week. After unsuccessful calls to 16 contractors I found Marco Cotón who agreed to look at the project. The next morning Marco arrived at our agreed time , surveyed the project and provided what I felt to be a very fair quote to do the work. The following day his crew arrived and began work. His crew was professional, courteous and produced a first rate finished product that I seldom see these days, and they finished the job a day earlier than scheduled. We called Marco to get a bid to paint our duplex in Sonoma. Marco returned my husband's phone call promptly and arrived the next day at the appointed time to look at the property. He got a bid to us quickly and it was well priced. My husband has painted these properties numerous times in the past and he knows exactly what kind of prep work and painting needs to be done. Marco explained in detail what kind of prep would be done and gave a spot on estimate of how much paint was needed and how long the job would take. My husband was pleased with his plan and he also personally liked Marco so we hired him. The work was started the following week and we were impressed with his employee's professionalism, reliability, neatness and quality of work. They were here on time dependably every day. He kept in contact with us and was also concerned and respectful of our tenant's schedules, vehicles and comfort. He was at my house the same day I called, gave a very reasonable quote for the scope of the job, and even though they were so busy, he was able to squeeze my job in as I needed it done quickly, and even worked the weekend to get my job done. His team are also remarkable painters and extremely consciencious, very communicative and friendly. They are extremely thorough and professional, and my interior looks brand new again because not only did they paint beautifully, they went the extra mile and pointed out areas that they could resurface to improve the look, replastered little spots on corners, etc.

My sister and I hired Marco to paint a 1,070 square foot 2-story condo including all of the walls, ceilings, doors & trim, as well as the kitchen cabinets and patio fencing and gate. After attempting to reach and set appointments with 4 different painters, Marco was the only one to promptly return my call and immediately set up a time to come out and walk the property. My first impressions were immediately favorable. He was precisely on time and, while doing a thorough walk-through with me, his 20 years worth of expertise was evident. He immediately wrote up an estimate, which, after discussing it with my sister, I accepted.

Throughout the project, he kept me informed of scheduling and any issues or questions that came up. He and his crew continually kept me in the loop and were always checking in with me to make sure I was happy with how the work was progressing. Unlike some crews, his crew worked every day and stayed until the entire job was finished, even though it took a couple of days longer than initially anticipated due to some especially troublesome kitchen cabinets that needed painting and Marco was able to have his crew work seamlessly around the other subcontractors that were also working in the unit.

Over the course of a few days, I had the pleasure of meeting four of his crew members (including Danny and Alejandro) and everyone of them were the consummate professionals. As the project wound up, we actually wound up doing 2-3 walk throughs just to make sure that every spot that bled through (the former tenants left graffiti on the walls), and every paint bubble, drip, or knick was smooth and flawless.

Their attention to detail is amazing; their patience with a picky property owner incredible!

The kitchen cabinets were especially labor-intensive because the former tenants left raised residue in a grid pattern all over the inside of the cabinets and drawers from some sort of foam shelf liners. Despite having used 3 different scrapers and solvents, I wasn't able to get most of it off but somehow Marco's guys managed to sand all the residue off and repaint them with a semi-gloss that made the cabinets look brand new. The new composite louvered closet doors weren't the same shade of white as the walls when we bought them, but when Marco's guys were done with them, they blended seamlessly with their surroundings and our newly installed bedroom carpets left no hint that there had been painters working on top of them. When a neighbor came by to check on the progress, he was utterly astounded by the quality of work Marco and his guys did. Even the two-story tall stairwell was pristine.

To top it off, Marco and his crew are all genuinely nice guys: upbeat with great senses of humor. Ultimately, you want to work with people that 1) do great work and 2) are great people, and that's what I was able to do with Marco & his guys. I've already referred a couple of people to him and will definitely be using him again both on my rental units, as well as my own home from here on out. If you're looking for a new painter: look no more. You've found him.

I recently replaced carpet with wood floors and the base boards in my Petaluma home. I called Marco Coton based on positive reviews. I left a message and he called back within a couple of hours to setup and appointment to do a walk thru and an estimate. I also had him provide an estimate to paint the exterior of the house. I called two other contractors but decided to go with Marco based on a fair estimate and slow responses of the other painters. Not having used Marco before I decided to approve the base board first, which came out great. The crew was professional and they maintained a clean work environment.

Upon completion of the base boards I approved the exterior work. Marco did an equally great job with the exterior and was great with offering suggestions. The crew did a great job of preparing the exterior with sanding and filling cracks to ensure a quality finish. I'm super happy with the results and great communication during the course of the projects. I would definitely recommend him I'm also having him paint my other home in Walnut Creek.

Marco did a great job for me painting the exterior of a 1700 sq ft older house in Petaluma. A lot of prep was needed and some dry rot was discovered. He was able to handle all this quickly and at a very fair price.

He kept a crew working on the job every day until the job was completed to my satisfaction. His crew was polite, friendly and professional. They did not blast music, smoke, swear or leave garbage around as other workers have done.

Marco was a pleasure to work with. He responded quickly to my phone calls, emails and texts, showed up when he said he would and showed great attention to detail. His initial bid was fast and competitive and he did not try to nickel and dime me with extras as some contractors do.

I am super-picky about my home maintenance, and Marco was right there with every detail covered. He supervised the power washing and staining of 4 decks and trim around my Mill Valley home and the work was done with care and done well. The stain color was not quite correct at first, so Marco came by first thing the next day and he had already visited the paint store with 4 alternative colors for me. We settled on exactly what I was looking for -- and then they got to work! A few days later and my home is looking great thanks to the care and attention that Marco and his team delivered.

I will call Coton Painting again in the Spring when it's time to power wash my cedar-sided home and have them paint it. I'll rest easy knowing that Marco is on the job!
